Dogbe (18-0, 12 KOs) made Ghanaians proud by stopping Mexico’s Cesar Juarez (20-6, 15KOs) in round five to win the interim WBO World super bantamweight belt.
Youth and Sports minister, Mr. Isaac Asiamah, who was at ring side on Saturday, after watching the 23 year-old batter his Mexican opponent revealed government’s plan to reward the former Olympian.
“In the coming weeks you will hear from government. I can promise you that the President would reward Dogbe handsomely for his performance tonight,” he said.
“I am so proud of him and all I can say now is that he is so focused, determined and disciplined and that is what every boxer needs to attain greater heights in the country.”
