The Madina Zongo Junction headquarters of Kencity Media has been thrown into a state of mourning after news about the death of its cameraman assigned to the Presidency went viral on Monday morning.
Apparently, Mohammed Ashiley who works with NET 2 TV a subsidiary of Kencity Media was the one who fell from the Madina overpass while trying to capture video footages of the gas explosion.
Colleagues, who confirmed his death to the media said his family was at the 37 military morgue to identify his body.
Mohammed Ashiley was among 7 persons who were confirmed dead in Saturday’s explosion at Madina Atomic Junction.
According to Minister of information, Mustapha Abdul-Hamid 132 suffered various degrees of injuries of which some have been treated and discharged from various health facilities within Accra.
The Information Ministry has said out of the injured at least 64 persons have been discharged with 68 others receiving treatment.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who has resolved to end what appears to be recurring deadly gas explosions in the country, will later today visit the area to assess the extent of damage caused to lives and property.
