Land guards totally burn down Ohemaa Mercy’s ‘father’s Church

Well-built men, suspected to be land guards, have burnt down the Believers House of Worship Church located at Okpoi Gonno on Spintex Road in Accra, and destroying their properties, worth over hundreds of thousands of Ghana Cedis.

The burnt items include chairs, instruments and television screen.

Sources available to indicate that the church is currently in a legal battle with a woman who claims ownership of the land.

Leader of the Church, Rev. Abraham Lamptey, in a conversation narrated that about 7months ago, a woman slapped the church with a lawsuit, claiming ownership of the land.

He further expressed shock over the development as the court is yet to give its ruling on the issue as well as not asked them to vacate the place.

Rev. Abraham Lamptey also stated that some land guards visited the church about 3 months ago and told the church workers that they [the church] was lucky because they [the land guards] were fasting.

The incident is said to happened this afternoon in the presence of some church members.
The land guards allegedly stormed the Church with machine guns, sacked everyone around, poured petrol in the auditorium and set the place ablaze.
They then jumped into a waiting car and fled.

Popular Musician, Ohemaa Mercy commenting on the issue bemoaned the increasing rate of lawlessness in the country.
