A homeless man who loaned a stranger his shoes so he could get into a restaurant has explained why he did it.

Jonathon Byles said he gave his shoes to Akbar Badshah, 36, last week because it was the ‘decent thing to do’.

Mr Badshah, from Queensbury, Bradford, had been refused entry into upmarket Brazilian diner Fazenda, in Spinningfields, Manchester, because he was wearing sandals.
