The council said it has withheld the results of some 668 candidates who took the exams.
A total of 128,707 candidates wrote the exams in various centers across the country.
A statement signed by the Deputy Director of Public Affairs of WAEC, Agnes Teye-Cudjoe said those whose results had been withheld were believed to have indulged in various forms of examination malpractices.
It further stated that their results will be released after investigations have been conducted and they have been cleared.
“The results of 668 candidates alleged to have been involved in various examination malpractices have been withheld pending the conclusion of investigations into the cases of malpractices. The withheld results will be released as soon as the Council concludes its investigations,” the statement said.
The statement also urged various institutions to be mindful of fake WAEC certificates being presented to them and urged them to verify the authenticity of each results using its verification system available at the headoffice or via www.waecgh.org.
