A Ukrainian man killed then dismembered members of his family, before boiling their body parts in saucepans to make ‘stewed meat’, say police.

Investigators suspect a 29-year-old man killed his uncle and aunt, and their adult son, before using kitchen knives to slice up their remains.

There are now fears that this suspected cannibal could have killed and dismemebred others in the same way, said the senior policeman in Ukraine’s capital.

‘When we entered the flat, we saw body parts in cans and saucepans,’ said Andrey Krischenko, chief of Kiev police.

‘The nephew was boiling his relatives in saucepans.’

He had put the cooked human meat into ‘sealed’ cans to preserve it.

‘The nephew boiled the body parts of his relatives and made stew meat, using several saucepans,’ said a police source.

‘He had managed to seal several cans of stew meat by the time police arrived.’

Shocked Krischenko said: ‘We we are now checking all the addresses where he might have lived.

‘We will study everything.

‘Possibly, it is not the only such cruel murder.’

Neighbours in the Solomensky district of Kiev had called police to the scene.

They had not seen the family for several days and were concerned about an ‘unpleasant smell’ in the apartment block.
