The head of Communications at the Electoral Commission (EC), Mr. Eric Kofi Dzakpasu, has stated that polls at the Jaman North constituency has resumed, contrary to earlier reports that it had been adjourned.
According to him, the decision to suspend the polls was contrary to the provision of Regulations 36/1 of CI 94 and therefore, it has been reversed.
Speaking at the second EC media briefing, he said electoral materials have been dispatched to the constituency and voting is ongoing.
“The polls in the Jaman North Constituency has not been adjourned. Commission directs and it has been confirmed by the Regional director and the district officer that enough security presence is assured, materials have been dispatched and polls have resumed in the Jaman North Constituency” – he said
