Former presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church, Ghana, Most. Rev. Aboagye Mensah has asked the Electoral Commission (EC) to be neutral and objective in its affairs ahead of the 2016 general election.
He was speaking at a press conference in Accra yesterday.
According to him, the credibility of the election could be in questioned if the actions of the Electoral Commission only favour some political parties.
Most Rev. Aboagye Mensah however expressed worry over the seemingly total support the ruling National Democratic Congress has given the EC and its decisions when other parties are against it.
This, according to him, makes the ground fertile for the public to have the perception that the EC is working in the favour of the ruling government to ensure they retain power in the upcoming election.
