According to statement signed by the Acting Executive Director of the Scheme, Dr. Michael Kpessa-Whyte, the Secretariat has begun receiving class lists of final year students from the various tertiary institutions for processing.
As part of the scheme’s ongoing reforms, prospective personnel for the 2016/2017 service year would be required to provide their National Identification numbers, SSNIT numbers, as well as e-zwich account numbers.
The statement explains that these requirements are necessary and needed to serve as a buffer check for the Scheme to track and eliminate personnel who completed their national service obligation in previous years but attempt to register again to do national service in subsequent years, against existing practice.
It warned that personnel who fail to provide the required information and documents be unable to complete their on-line enrollment process.
