KNUST Website Restored After ‘Hacker Takeover’

KNUSTBarely 2 hours after the official website of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology was taken over by a Morrocan hacking group, the Moroccan MujahiDeen Team, the site has been restored.

It is unclear if the website was relinquished by the group after the incident hours ago.

The website was defaced by the hacking team on Tuesday, November 24 at about 6.28pm sending shocking waves down the spines of some students who believed their academic data could be compromised.

No reason was given for the attack but the Moroccan MujahiDeen Team is known to have interest in hacking and defacing websites of key government organizations.

Authorities of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology were not readily available to comment on the issue at the time of filling this report.

In a related development, Takoradi Polytechnic (www.tpoly.edu.gh) and Ghana Post Limited (www.ghanapost.com.gh) are yet to have their websites restored after the attack.
