A 20-year-old, Kwadwo Amakye will soon be arraigned before court in Accra for defacing a Vodafone scratch card.
He is facing two charges – forgery of document and the publication of false news.
Information available to 233livenews indicates Amakye who admitted editing and circulating the photo on social was arrested in Takoradi bvefore being transferred to the Airport Police.
Amakye edited a photo of mobile telecom giant, Vodafone Ghana’s scratch card and added an inscription; “Kwasia wop3 sika adi”.
According to him, he did so to create amusement on social media and had no intention of defaming Vodafone.
However, Vodafone said the development has marred the brand’s image and it is difficult to quantify the loss.
The Airport Police commander Yao Tettegah said the matter will be followed to its logical conclusion.
