GMi motors, authorized distributors of world acclaimed vehicle brands, Changan and BYD have presented a brand new Changan CS35 SUV worth $23,000.00 to the University of Ghana Alumni Association.
Presenting the vehicle to the association, Chief Executive Officer of GMi Motors, Nii Komieteh Botchway said the car was to show appreciation to the association for its continuous contribution towards the development of the education in the country.
He noted that, GMi Motors takes keen interest in education and will continue to show support to organizations within the education sector who demonstrate commitment to improve its standards in the country.
“Our Company’s mission is to provide every Ghanaian with the safety, economy, comfort and reliability that can be associated with owning a new car. This vehicle will assist the efforts of the Alumni Association,” Nii Komieteh said.
Receiving the vehicle, Chairman of the University of Ghana Alumni Association, Mr. Paa Kwesi Yankey, said the association was extremely grateful for the kind gesture and it will tremendously help the association to easily reach out to more of its members.
“The gesture is a very great one from GMi Motors. The Board Chairman for GMi Motors, Dr. Gibrine Adam had promised to give us another vehicle after donating a first one earlier this year and he has been true to his word. We are constantly working to grow the Alumni and get more alumnus involved in contributing to the University in diverse ways. We appreciate this donation; it will assist us in our work.”
Mr. Yankey also called on other alumnus of the University to emulate the gesture and contribute their quota to the development of the school.
The donation, which took place at the GMi Motors showroom at the Legon Mall in Accra was witnessed by some executive members of the alumni association as well as staff of GMi Motors.
