The Computerised School Selection Placement System (CSSPS) has successfully placed 329,416 Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) candidates into senior high schools (SHS) and technical institutions (TIs) across the country.
The number consists of 1844,474 males and 144,943 females.
The outgoing National Coordinator of the CSSPS, Mr George Atta-Boateng who made the revelation said the number represents the first batch of placements.
Candidates who wish to check their schools, can do so by texting their index numbers and the last two digits of the year of examination to 1060 on any mobile network.
To receive details of your school placement: Text your index number + year of completion to short code 1060.
For instance, if you completed your exams in 2012 and your index number is 12345678910, text 1234567891012 to short code 1060 on all networks.
Mr. Boateng in an interview noted that placement for outstanding 109,806 candidates will be done next week together with the remaining reentry candidates, as well as those who rewrote the BECE as private candidates.
Meanwhile, Mr Atta-Boateng has said that there are enough vacancies for all the BECE candidates in Senior High Schools and Technical Institutes. , and assured the unplaced candidates that they would be placed.
NB: After confirming the school you have been placed in, candidates would have to wait till October 21, 2015 (about two weeks) to print their admission forms from the Internet for submission to their schools of choice after which they were expected to report for school on October 28, 2015.
