The premiere of the much anticipated expose on judicial corruption by the Tiger Eye PI in the Ashanti Regional capital has been suspended.
This follows a court injunction secured by Justice Uutter Derry, one of the judges indicted in the video against the public showing of the video which was slatted for 3rd and 4th October.
233livenews gathers that Justice Derry filed a suit against Ultimate FM, sponsors of the premiere and Tiger Eye PI.
Investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, leader of the Tiger Eye PI team that carried out the 2-year long investigation apologized via his official Facebook page for the inconvenienced caused anxious residents of Kumasi who were expecting the screening of the movie this weekend.
He posted on Friday;
“We have just been served with a writ here in Kumasi seeking to injunct us from the Ashanti Regional screening of “Ghana In The Eyes Of God.”
“I want to tell the great people of Kumasi that I am terribly sorry for this development. I will urge all all of you who have travelled from far and near for this eventful night here In the Garden city to remain calm, we are putting measures in place for another day. Sorry for any inconvenience once more. Let’s all join hands in enhancing our democracy,” he added.
There had been great publicity about the event in the Ashanti Regional capital about the event which follows the Accra public showing two weeks ago.
