The conference, slated for Wednesday, August 18, 2015 at the Sunlodge Hotel at Tesano in Accra, will bring together business people, government officials, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and development partners to discuss and make commitments to anti-corruption as well as build networks.
According to Dr. Joyce Aryee, Ghana needs to open up discussion on corruption and begin to address the root causes of the phenomenon at all levels.
In an interview on Radio Univers, the former Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Chamber of Mines noted that incidence of corruption has grown to become a canker in the country and so needs to be addressed by all stakeholders through personal commitments to ensure it does not become further institutionalized.
She added that the more people must be empowered to kick against corruption and be motivated to report incidences of corruption in the country.
The Transparency and Anti-Corruption conference will start at 8.30am prompt and will feature award winning Ghanaian journalist, Manasseh Awuni Azure, Assistant Professor at the Ashesi, Dr. Esi Ansah, Mr. Keli Gadzekpo, Co-Founder of Data Bank and Dr. Kofi Osei-Kusi, founder of Osei Kusi Foundation.
Cost of the conference is GH¢100, covering certificates, course materials, snack and lunch.
