PHOTOS: Ultra-Modern Campus for UHAS Ready for Commissioning

uhas7An ultra-modern campus for the University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho has been completed and ready for commissioning.

Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Tertiary Education,  Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa who visited the site on Monday to ascertain the readiness of the facilities meant to be the permanent campus for the school commended the contractors for doing quality work done.

He described the project as a timely one, coming at a time when demand for higher education at the institution was high.

During the last matriculation of the school, Vice Chancellor, Professor Fred Binka said contractors had completed work on the site for official commissioning.

The facility described as having a very “unique” architecture has dedicated sporting areas at the students’ hostels with inbuilt water reservoir and solar panels for streetlights.

Hon. Ablakwa promised the University’s road network and landscape challenges will be addressed before the next academic year.

The permanent campus, which has seven laboratories, libraries, ICT centre, classroom and administration blocks, cafeteria and auditorium, would house the School of Allied and Health Sciences and the School of Basic Biomedicals.

The School of Medicine and Nursing and Midwifery would, however, remain at the old campus in the yard of the Regional Hospital.

The School of Public Health is located at Hohoe.
