Don-Arthur To Contest Effutu NDC Primary

eric Don ArthurA Broadcaster and private consultant, Mr Eric Don-Arthur, has disclosed his intention to contest the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries in the Effutu Constituency in the Central Region.

Mr Don-Arthur, 48, is likely to contest former MP for the area, Mr Mike Hammah, Henry Kweku Bortsie Ghartey and Eric Ebo Appiah.

Addressing journalists at a press conference organised by the Democratic Outreach Network of Effutu, a youth group affiliated to the NDC, at Winneba last Tuesday, he said he had come with new hope and passion to build upon the solid foundation laid by his predecessors.

According to him, there was the need for change in leadership to propel the development of the Effutu area.

He indicated that he was coming on board with fresh ideas and energy from his various fields of work that would help transform the lives of the people in the municipality.

He stressed that the task ahead was herculean and challenging but he was prepared to contribute his quota to the development of Winneba and its surrounding communities if elected MP for the area.

‘’I have responded to the calls of the people across the board and had no choice but to avail myself to help the area achieve its desired progress,’’ he pointed out.

Mr Don Arthur, therefore, called on the delegates to have confidence in him and vote massively for him during the forthcoming parliamentary primaries of the party.

Peaceful process

Addressing the press conference, the convener of the group, Mr Nathaniel Papa Akyeampong, called for a peaceful democratic process towards building consensus in unity to elect a winnable candidate for the 2016 parliamentary election.

He indicated that the group endorsed the candidatures of Mr Don-Arthur, Kweku Borstie Ghartey and Ebo Appiah since they were young and represented the next generation of leaders.
