On President Mahama‘s historic visit to the Nsawam Prison on Friday, June 3, jailed notorious armed robber, Aryee Ayittey alias Ataa Ayi was reported to have knelt down before the President pleading for pardon.
The story which was corroborated by a photo evidence of the scene attracted lots of social media buzz on firstly; whether or not Ataa Ayi should be granted pardon and also whether the man seen kneeling before the President was indeed Ataa Ayi.
The more controversial debate has been arguments that the action was deliberately planned for media hype.
In touching on whether the man seen in the photo was indeed Ataa Ayi, one can only present photo evidence of the man in question then and now. He has been in prison for the past 10 years so some changes should be expected.
