Blakk Rasta 1Controversial radio presenter, Abubakar Ahmed also known as Blakk Rasta has expressed remorse and rendered apologies to parliament for comments he made last week with regards to members of Parliament and their use of ‘wee’

The presenter was reported to have said on Accra-based Hitz FM that “there are a lot of people in parliament who smoke but will want to remain unknown, people who smoke marijuana are presidents , so if your president is smoking marijuana how can you say someone will get mad?”

Blakk Rasta was subsequently summoned to appear before the privileges committee of the Parliament on Thursday where he apologized to the house for “the unfortunate remarks”.

“I will like to apologize for those unfortunate remarks that sometimes comes when you are on heat” he said.

He added that his comment was in the spur of the moment and was not his intention to tarnish the image of the house although he believes marijuana must be legalized to save Ghana’s ailing economy.

His Lawyer, Mr. Thaddeus Sorry argued that he [Blakk Rasta] had been misquoted by the Daily Searchlight newspaper.
The committee did not have evidence to the contrary so the reggae artiste was let off the hook.
