Skipper of the Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan last Tuesday donated a cash amount of $10,000 to the Cardiothoracic Centre of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in his capacity as the President of the Asamoah Gyan Foundation.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the centre, director, Dr. Lawrence Siriboe expressed his profound gratitude to the captain and called on other well-meaning Ghanaians to support the centre.
The Al Ain striker in the company of Ghana FA Executive Committee member George Afriyie, Chief Executive Officer of the Asamoah Gyan Foundation, Samuel Anim Addo and other personalities visited the Reconstructive Plastic Surgery and Burn Centre where they met and donated bags of rice to the four victims of last Wednesday’s Circle filing station explosion disaster.
At the Children’s ward, Asamoah Gyan donated several bags of rice and noodles to all the patients and adopted the medical bills of a treated tumor patient who had been detained at the hospital for non-payment of bills.
The Cardiothoracic centre of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital attends to several patients daily with various conditions relating to their cardiovascular system.
