Radio Univers’ Parliamentary correspondent Jonas Nyabor mentioned that the document had approved the nomination of Minister-designate for Health, Mr. Alexander Percival Segbefia as well as Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh for the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.
The others are, Mr. Peter Anarfi-Mensah as Ashanti Regional minister-designate, Mr. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei as Deputy minister-designate for Defence and Mr. Yaw Adusei, Deputy minister-designate for Water resources works and housing.
The five were nominated by President Mahama in March this year.
According to the Chairman of the Appointments Committee, Hon. Ebo Barton-Oduro, all nominees had given a good account of themselves and duly met the requirements of the committee. He noted that there were a few discrepancies with the CVs and related documents of some of the appointees however, they had been settled.
In seconding the motion for the approval, the Member of Parliament for Manhyia, Hon. Mathew Opoku Prempeh suggested that the Appointments Committee initiated a process to ensure uniformity in the requirements nominees present in order to avoid challenges with regards to the varying formats of CVs they present.
Member of Parliament for Asawase, Hon. Muntaka Mubarak charged the minister-designates to be diligent in the discharge of their duties.
The ministers and deputy minister-designates are expected to be sworn-in by the President on a later date.
