The Brong Ahafo Regional Coordinating Council will soon supply 10,000 bunk beds, 10,000 mattresses to Senior High Schools within the Brong Ahafo region.
About 5,000 dual desks and 5,000 mono desks will also be distributed to selected basic schools across the region.
He further disclosed that approval has also been secured to construct 4 No. 2 Unit staff quarters for the school to commemorate the 5th Anniversary of its establishment.
Mr Opoku noted that, the massive roles that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has played in the education sector indicates that the party was committed to deliver state services in support of schools for students and educators to improve and attain the national vision of equality, quality and justice in our schools system.
In a speech read on his behalf, Prof Thomas Kwadwo Djang –Fordjour Rector of Sunyani Polytechnic said the theme for the occasion “Discipline, the Bedrock to Quality Education and Nation Building” was appropriate in the sense that discipline is a virtue that cannot under estimate the quest to ensure that graduates who pass through the walls of institutions have been trained adequately to acquire knowledge and skills needed for the development of institutions and the nation at large.
According to him if stakeholders are able to play their expected roles in ensuring discipline at all levels, the Nation will be in a position to turnout quality graduates who will play important roles in the development of this country.
The Regional Education Director Dr. George Adjei-Henne challenged the student to lay a good foundation for their future while in school.
