Ivory Coast goalie Copa Barry has retired from international football after powering the Ivoirians win the 2015 Cup of nation in Equatorial Guinea.
Barry 35, who plies his trade at Belgian side Lokeren, saved two spot kicks before slotting in the winner for Ivory Coast at the Estadio de Bata on February 8th 2015.
Speaking to Ivorian TV RTI said “Every good thing has an end. I have decided to put an end to my international career with the Elephants of Ivory Coast,”
“I have always been proud to wear the shirt of Ivory Coast team. Good luck,” he added.
Barry ‘s retirement thus makes him the second player to quit international football from the Afcon winning team after Liverpool Kole Toure announced his retirement barely three days after winning the 2015 edition of the nations cup in Equatorial Guinea.
