A board member of premier league side, Accra Hearts of Oak, Mr. Frank Nelson is calling on fans of the club to offer prayers to God and seek his intervention in the club to enable it perform better in the ongoing league.
The football club since the start of the league has performed poorly, generating anger among fans, sympathizers and some investors.
According to Mr. Nelson, the current predicament of the club could not be attributed to supposed incompetence of the current management team but the timing and bad luck.
After 8 matches the club is 15th on the league table out of 16 clubs with only 8 points and 8 goals to their credit.
Accra Hearts of Oak was the first football club to be established in Ghana in 1911 and has won over 20 premier league trophies however, over the last two seasons, the side has struggled to live up to expectations as a club that has ever won the league on six consecutive occasion from 1996 to 2002.
In a radio interview with Joy FM on Monday, Mr. Frank Nelson said it was about time fans of the club lifted their hands to God in prayer to seek his face and intervention to turn the fortunes of the club.
Meanwhile, some key persons supporting the club in various areas are reported to have withdrawn from the club with other assuming a position of indifference as a result of the current state of the club.
