Water Supply Restored In Accra After 72 Hours Of Weija Shutdown

Water problemWater Supply in most parts of Accra has been restored after about 72 Hours of Weija Plant Shutdown.

The management of Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) on Friday, 16th May, 2014 noticed consumers about the shut down of the Weija plant

According the GWCL, the shutdown was to allow them install a valve on the Weija transmission line at Heavy wood, Odorkor in Accra. The installation of the valve, according the GWCL, would enable them to isolate and repair a faulty pipeline at Kokroko near Awoshie Junction.

The interruption of water supply affected areas such as: Kasoa, CP, Nyanyaano, Amanfro, Obom Road and Weija, Tetegu.

Others are: McCarthy Hill, SCC, Tuba, Brigade, Bortianor, Mallam, Gbawe, Odorkor, Awoshie and Sowutuom. The rest include: Israel, Achimota, Ofankor, Galilea, Abeka, Lapaz, Tesano, Darkuman, Bubuashie, Kaneshie, Awudome, Industrial Area, Mataheko and Abossey Okai.

At the about 9:55am today, 233livenews received information from residence in Achimota and its environs about the restoration of water supply
