Managers of the Computerized School Selection and Placement System in Ghana have rolled out a program to afford students who failed to enter SHS this year after the 2013 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) the opportunity to select their preferred Senior High Schools for a second batch of placemen will soon commence.
According to Systems Administrator at the CSSPS, Mr. Abankwa Anokye, the students will be allowed to select four (4) Senior High Schools of their choice and await a review of their choices in relation to their acquired examination results before placement.
Speaking in an interview, Mr. Anokye said the move was to ensure more BECE graduates enter Senior High School after failing to do so due to poor grades, ill health and inconvenience of a previous admission.
Both Ghanaian and foreign students who wish to be considered for the second placement are to pick up entry forms from their district educational offices and the Ghana Education Service Head office for foreign applicants.
In 2013, a total of 1,024 Junior High School graduates had their entire results withheld pending investigation for malpractices.
