Howard Webb to officiate Atlético Vs Barcelona

howard webEnglish referee Howard Webb has been selected to referee the forthcoming Champions League fixture betweenAtlético and Barcelona. In 2010 he was entrusted with both the Champions League final, between Bayern Munich and Inter, and the final of the South Africa World Cup.

This season he’s been in charge of the Atlético-Porto tie that was won 2-1 by Simeone’s side. He has also refereed another Atletico game against Porto, in the first leg of a 2008-09 Champions League round of 16 tie at the Vicente Calderón, which ended in a 2-2 draw.

Barcelona have never lost with Webb in charge. So far they have beaten Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine on 1st October 2010, thumped Bayern Munich at the Camp Nou (4-0) on 8th April 2009, and picked up an away victory to Dinamo Kiev (2-1) on 9th December 2009.
