Joseph Dogbe Wins UG SRC Presidential Election

Joshua DogbeMaster Joseph Dogbe has won the much anticipated University of Ghana SRC Presidential election after securing over 50% YES vote having ran unopposed.

The Student Representative Council executive election came off on Wednesday 26th March in-spite of some  legal challenges.

Joshua Dogbey contested for the high office unopposed as some aspirants failed to progress to contest after filing nomination.

Out of the of 3,634 valid votes cast, Joshua Dogbe had 3,246 giving him a YES vote with 388 NO.

For the position of Secretary, Ms. Janet Tukpeyi won with a total vote of 1,811 with her only competitor, Obaapa Akosua Tiwaa Kwao polling 1683.

The position of Treasurer was won by Ama Sarfo Nyarkoa. Ama Sarfo polled 1,812 votes as against her competitor, Emmanuel Nkrumah’s 1,674 votes.

Voting at the various polling centers went on smoothly as no disruptive incident was recorded.

Assisted by his vice, Joshua Andrews-Agyir, president-elect Joshua Dogbe will succeed Eric Edem Agbana to service between the 2014/2015 academic period.
