Just when all was presumed to have been settled on regulations regarding the use of University of Ghana roads, management of the school have issued a notice to all motorists that ply the school notes informing them about a new measure relating to driving in and out of campus.
Large banners with the message “No UG Sticker No entry” and “No UG sticker, No exit” have been displayed boldly on either sides of the University’s security check booths at all its entry and exit points.
The new policy is set to take effect from Saturday 15th March according to the notice.
According to security on Campus, only vehicles with University of Ghana (UG) stickers will be allowed entry to or exit from the University campus. The Okponglo entrance remains an exception to the policy as the public can freely enter and exist via the same point.
Management of the University of Ghana came under pressure several weeks ago following an introduction of a road toll system that made motorists pay between GH¢1 to GH¢3 to enter the University. The road toll policy was later suspended and replaced with new regulatory measures.
