Armed Forces SHS GMSA Swears In New Executives

Armed Forces SHS  GMSAThe Ghana Muslims Students Association (GMSA) of Armed Forces Senior High Technical School, Burma Camp, on Friday 28th February 2014, swore-in new executives to handle the affairs of the association.

The program which was scheduled to commence at exactly 3:00pm rather begun at 3:08pm with Quaranic recitation by the out-going P.R.O. Hawawu Ahmed, who also served as the assistant School’s prefect for the 2013/2014 academic year.

The M.C of the ceremony, Aisha Abdullah Kuta introduced Mr. Abdullah Yunusah as the chairman of the occasion after which the out-going deputy Imam of the Association, ‘Sheik’ Abdul Basit gave the opening prayer for the start of the ceremony.

Sir Richard Brobbey together with Sir Essel-Yorke was invited to give a short talk to the Muslim students.

Sir Richard Brobbey, in his speech, advised the students to be time conscious and it was a valuable commodity. Sir Essel-Yorke, using ‘Sheik’ Abdul Basit a case study, advised the students not only to learn the Holy Quran but also practice it. He further congratulated ‘Sheik’ Abdul Basit for his outstanding behavior among the Muslims.

DSCN6103The out-going President of the association, Bashiru Nazeeru, gave his final speech, saying that the association has helped him become bold in answering questions in class and also helped him acquire the leadership qualities needed in life.

Certificates were given to the out-going executives as a sign of appreciation for their service to the association.

Ayuba Daou, was then introduced as the new President of the association with Issifu Fuseini being his Vice.

The closing prayer was then said by the incoming Imam, Ahmed Abdul Mukhsin.

All invited guests were presents at the ceremony including those for Turkey. Scripture Union and Leadership International members were also in attendance to show love and support to the Muslim brothers. Some past executives of GMSA were also in attendance.
