KNUST Senior High School Gets New Board

KNUST SHSThe Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, KNUST Senior High School has inaugurated a 13-member board of governors.

The board, chaired by Dr. Divine Ahadzie, a lecturer with the Department of Building Technology of KNUST was sworn in by a Kumasi Circuit Court  Judge, Mr Justice Emmanuel Lodoh.     

In his address, the Ashanti Regional Director Education, Mr. Kofi Sarfo Kantanka explained that the board was put in place based on the policy of community participation in Education, adding that, the school was not an Island and could not be seperated from the community in whose interest it hoped to serve.

He therefore advised the new board to bring to full use their experiences from their different fields so as to ensure good administration of funds of the school and also ensure discipline among students and staff.

Mrs. Joyce Owusu, Headmistress of the school also commended members of the school management board for their past contributions towards the growth and development of the school especially in academic performance improvement and infrastructural development.

She assured the new board of governors of transparent administration and co-operation to ensure discipline among the students, as well as the academic staff.

Some of the board members are Mrs Joyce Owusu Ansah, headmistress, R. Adam, Mrs Cecelia Ampadu and Mr G. Owusu Boateng.
