"Don't Blame Us For Student's Death" – UEW Authorities

UEW suicideAuthorities of the University of Education, Winneba have denied responsibility of the death of a level 100 student who committed suicide after receiving a sack letter from the University for failing three (3) examination papers.

In an interview, Deputy Registrar of the University, Mr. Steve Kamassah said the deceased, Mr. Solomon Obeng was counseled prior to the release of the examination results hence his action was unexpected and unfortunate.

He however assured the general public that the University will revise the modalities for releasing examination results in the school to prevent any such occurrence from happening again.

The late Solomon Obeng committed suicide in an uncompleted building near the South Campus of UEW after receiving a sack letter from the University for making 3Es (below 50% mark) in his previous examination.
