UCC To Run Degree Programs In Mental Nursing From Next Semester

UCCThe University of Cape Coast will as from next academic year run programs in metal nursing.

Plans for the inclusion of the degree programs are far advance according to Mrs. Gloria Quansah, Director of Family Health Services at the Ghana Health Service who was speaking at the opening of the Ghana Mental Health Services performance review last week on behalf of the Director General, Dr. Ebenezer Appiah Denkyira.

Quality mental health service delivery in Ghana has over the years suffered some setbacks due inadequate psychiatric nurses. This, the Ghana Health Service has pledged to help solve by various means, one of which is the introduction of mental nursing degree programs in UCC.

Mrs. Gloria Quansah stated that the service would ensure it continues to act as a collaborator in providing quality care to the mentally ill in all health institutions.
