A blacksmith in Ahonjo near Kpong who is believed to be a supplier of arms to the robbers has also been arrested.
Three of the armed robbers according to the police are wanted in connection with the recent shootings in Kumasi.
At a press conference in Accra the police said the robbers were arrested in separate locations.
Joy News’ Manasseh Azure Awuni who was present at the conference reported that the three robbers connected to the Kumasi shootings were arrested at the Kokomba Yam market. They were arrested upon a tip-off.
Six others were also arrested at Tulako, Ashaiman, one of whom is said to be the manager of the Candle Light Guest House.
The last batch of robbers was arrested in Madina on their way to carry out another robbery.
Two were picked up and upon interrogation, they mentioned the the blacksmith who they said supplied them with the weapons.
Awuni narrated how a girl friend of one of the robbers called on a mobile phone, asking if the operation had been successful. She was lured and later arrested.
Locally manufactured pistol, two single barreled guns, knives, amulets and other deadly weapons were found on the robbers.
The Greater Accra Regional Police Commander Christian Tetteh Yehono said the police are gradually winning the battle against crime.
“For almost one month there has not been any major robbery.
“Accra has been relatively calm for almost one month, he said adding the police have been largely visible,” he said.
