Popular faces in Ghanaian movies, John Dumelo and Majid Michel have been honored in the United States for their contributions towards the development of the African film industry.
The two, who have been on the African movie scene for quite some time received citations from the City council of Philadelphia as honorary awards for their outstanding contribution towards the African film industry and charity works in the continent.
The award event which was held at the Philadelphia City Hall on April 10 saw some distinguished dignitaries in attendance. They included; Honorable Jannie L. Blackwell, City Council of Philadelphia, Hon. Stanley L. Straughter, Chairman of the Mayor’s Commission on African and Caribbean Immigrant Affairs, and Honorary,Consul The Republic of Guinea and Dr. Samuel Quartey, Chairman/African Caribbean Business Council, Imhotep Charter School & Ga Dangme Foundation.
John and Majid are currently working on various movie projects which are expected to be made public soon.
