A total number of 195 medical and dental students from various medical institutions were on Friday April 5 inducted into the Ghana Medical and Dental Council.
In the ceremony that took place at the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons in Accra, the practitioners led by Dr. Eric Asamoah who administered the oath pledged to deliver their duties diligently and professionally.
Amongst the distinguished guests that graced the occasion was the Minister of Health, Mad. Sherry Ayitey. In her address, she encouraged the inductees to serve their nation well in the various hospitals and other health centers they would find themselves, as their services are much needed for the development of the nation. She added that the government was doing its best to ensure they enjoy better working conditions and got a much deserving remuneration.
Dr. Stephen Quarcoo of the registry department said all efforts had been made to ensure all the doctors are not concentrated in Accra or any other capital city only but also rural areas so they could contribute to solving the health problems of the rural folks.
