The campus of the University of Cape Coast came alive when David Boakye also known as ‘The Voice’ was declared winner of the university’s 2013/2014 SRC presidential election.
David beat his ‘Goliath’, Benedict Yeboah-Korankye also known as ‘The Emancipator’ by quite a significant margin to ascend to the position of SRC President.
The elections, which took place on Thursday 4th April, 2013 saw several exuberant candidates contesting various positions in the Student Representative Council.
Having being through the mills of vetting and drills of tedious campaigning, it became clear that the two most likely to occupy the topmost position in the council were David Boakye and Benedict Yeboah-Korankye who polled the majority of the total votes cast.
David Boakye was later in the evening after collation and tallying of votes declared winner of the election and he will serve for the 2013/2014 academic year.
Lady Eunice Obeng Boateng will occupy the position of Vice President.
