Anyone who follows Ghana’s showbiz industry closely will notice one young man who would mostly sing about political and governance issues and would definitely seize the chance to pour out his thought on issues relating to politics and governance in Africa during television and radio interviews.
Kwame Obeng Asare otherwise known as A-Plus in showbiz circles is his name. Having been very much linked to the NPP’s Nana Akuffo- Addo until recently when he was speculated to have thrown his weight behind the NDC’s John Dramani Mahama, A-Plus seem to have taken a final decision to remain in between the lines as a social commentator and government critic.
A-Plus was of the view that compared to the kind of leadership the nation had now, it would have been better to allow the whites manage affairs.
“On the 6th of March, we have to meet at the independence square as a nation and curse the day we gained independence. Why did we sack the whites if we knew we could not manage our own affairs? No light, no water, no gas, nothing!!! The only thing we have gained is useless, stupid, nkwasiafour, idiots who call themselves leader. You don’t have basic necessities and you say e dey be…. What the fuck dey be? Fools.”
The hiplife musician seem to have been extremely angered by the problems of erratic power supply, water rationing and LPG gas shortage that has severely hit the country; a sentiment majority of Ghanaians also share.
