H.E. President John Mahama in the company some energy policy advices this afternoon switched on an additional 87 megawatts of power from the Takoradi Thermal Plant in a bid to solve the current energy crisis the nation of Ghana has been largely hit with.
As earlier reported, the President would be touring some of the major power generational plants across the country to assess at firsthand their current states.
The president said the move was to augment the available total generated capacity and contribute towards resolving the current power challenges.
On the site, Pres. Mahama visited the intake point for the West African Gas Pipeline, which is expected to be completed soon.
His Excellency would tomorrow Tuesday visit the Akosombo and Kpong Hydro-Electric dams and then the Bui Hydro-Dam on Wednesday.
