Hugh Grant has had a second child with his girlfriend, announcing on Twitter that his daughter now has a baby brother to play with.
The Love Actually star tweeted to his 77,000 followers: “In answer to some journos. Am thrilled my daughter now has a brother. Adore them both to an uncool degree. They have a fab mum.”
He later added: “And to be crystal clear. I am the Daddy.”
Tabitha, his daughter with Chinese actress Tinglan Hong, was born in September 2011.
Grant, 52, has been outspoken on phone hacking and the impact of the paparazzi on celebrities’ lives. He condemned photographers for hounding Hong and his daughter.
He joined Twitter as HackedOffHugh in November to promote press reform in the wake of the hacking scandal, saying “it was a chance in a lifetime”.
Grant was awarded a “substantial” sum in damages by now defunct paper News Of The World after settling a phone hacking claim.
The undisclosed amount was donated to Hacked Off, which lobbies for “a free and accountable press”. Grant is on the campaign group’s board.
Grant dated Elizabeth Hurley for 13 years before they split in 2000, five years after he was caught cheating with Hollywood prostitute Divine Brown.
