Togolese international and Tottenham Hotspur forward, Emmanuel Sheyi Adebayor has reversed his decision not to feature in the Togolese national team in the upcoming 2013 African Cup of Nations to be hosted in South Africa.
Adebayor is now set to join his nation’s team leaving his English side with Jermain Defoe as the only striker.
The 28-year-old who initially stated he would like to remain with his club because of a row over team security and unpaid bonuses changed his mind after a meeting with Togolese authorities.
The African cup of Nations which is scheduled to commence on 19th January would see some of Africa’s finest players exhibit their skill and embrace the teamwork to see their various teams progress to the finale and eventually take the trophy.
Emmanuel Adebayor was with the Togo squad in Ghana for their pre-tournament training camp not too long ago.
It quite certain the management of Tottenham are not much enthused their star striker will be taking leave of them.
In his absence, it unarguably the fact that the goal scoring burden now rests on Jermain Defoe and probably winger Gareth Bale.
